Saturday 31st JULY 2010

The waves down here are nearly F L A T.
The odd 1ft set is hitting Shelly Beach and the water
conditions are smooth. The weather is poor with non
stop rain all morning. Head to NthShell for a rideable
wave. You'll see everyone else there, it's crowded already.

The swell has dropped off again overnight.
ShellyBeach has some 1 - 1.5ft waves.
The wind is wnw, so it's clean down here.

Thursday 29th July 2010

The swell is 2ft out of the East.
The wind is light from the NorthWest.
Conditions are ideal except the wave
height down here at Shelly Beach is only 1ft.
Head to NorthShelly for some peaky 2fters.

Wednesday 28th July 2010

Midday Update:
Swell is slightly bigger than my early morning check occurred. Through the wind and the rain I must have missed the sets.
Waves are 2ft down here and NthShell seems to have 3fters on the point.
The wind has swung around to EastNorthEast and has picked up a few knots since earlier check.
It was hard to get a photo in the rain thismorning,
but I decided to take one for the team (boarderlineSurf&Skate LongJetty) and here is one. Wave conditions look alot like summer.
Weather is definately winter!

Pretty small again down here at Shelly Beach today.
After a slow increase all day yesterday,
the swell has backed off overnight and left us with weak
1ft waves and an onshore breeze from the East.
Nth shelly has the odd 2fter and it's below average up there.
Wyong Council Professional Lifeguards are on duty at Shelly Beach now.
. . . . . . . . that's about all folks.

Tuesday 27th July 2010

Pretty bad down here at Shelly Beach thismorning.
The wind is out of the southSouthEast,. The swell is around a foot.
The combination of the 2 is horrific.
Stay in bed or go to work.

Monday26th July 2010

Not a wave over 1ft down here at shellybeach thismorning.

Light wsw wind with a bit of a ruffle on the wave face.

Swell is tiny and not looking like getting any bigger within next few days.

Get to work and get those jobs done. Nothing down here to look at.

Sunday, July 25, 2010

Sunday 25th July 2010

The waves have dropped overnight and are 1-2ft down here at ShellyBeach thismorning.
You'll get some bigger size at NorthShell, but it will only be 2ft with the very odd 3ft wave.
The wind is light out of the WSW. With the swell still backing off, your best bet is to make the most of it early. enjoy.

Friday 23rd July 2010

Waves are 2-3ft down here at Shelly Beach thismorning.
It's pretty clean with a SW wind blowing, and pretty cool too.

North Shelly has a few bigger waves up there,

although the banks are pretty average.

enjoy the start of the weekend.

Thursday 22nd July 2010

The swell is a bit bigger today and still out of the south.

North Shelly is 3-4ft with the odd bigger one. Shelly is 2-3ft.

The wind is WestSouthWest and is predicted to go south during the day.

Best to make good of the cleaner conditions whilst they are here.

enjoy

Wednesday 21st July

Rain, rain and not much waves. 3ft bumpy looking waves. Short period swell out of the SouthEast, light SouthWest wind. Not looking very inviting.

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Tuesday 20th July 2010

Swell has came up out of the south over night. It's currently in the 3ft range and looks possible to keep rising a little. Wind is SW and feels like it could go more to the south. Southern corners are protected from wind AND swell. NorthShell has 3fters, south end a little smaller.

Monday, July 19, 2010

19th July 2010

Waves are smaller again today.

1-2ft at Nth Shelly, 0-1ft at Shelly.

Wind is nice out of the west and the tiny swell is East / SouthEast.

If you're desperate, you'll have it to yourself.

Monday 19th July

Swell is very slow out of the East. Waves are 1-2ft and very inconsistent. tide is low coming up and there's not much hope for the rest of the day. if your keen get out there, you'd have to be desperate really. good for learners and groms not old enough for school.

Sunday, July 18, 2010

Sunday 18th July 2010

Waves are 2-3ft again today and the wind is from the WNW.
You'll have to be patient and wait a little longer but worth the paddle.
low tide early, high tide at 1:50pm thisarvo.
NorthShell pulling in a touch more swell.
enjoy.

Saturday, July 17, 2010

Saturday 17th July 2010

The swell has hung in there overnight and actually cleaned up a bit. West winds all night have made for cleaner lines and the wind has stayed out of the wsw all morning.

Swell size has dropped marginally and it's in the 3ft range out of the SouthEast.
NorthShell is pulling in more swell than the south end today, but banks are pretty average.

still cool down here, grab ya steamer and enjoy your weekend.

definately worth getting wet.

Friday, July 16, 2010

Friday 16th July 2010

Swell has come back again today with a solid 4-5ft ground swell from the SE. However there is a bit of wind with it currently from the SW. If the wind keeps a bit of West direction it is definitely worth a paddle in those protected southern corners.

Thursday, July 15, 2010

Thursday 15th July 2010

Back to chilly mornings with these W winds and it seems they have taken the swell with them. Currenly it is about 2-3ft ESE swell with quite a strong SW wind. Still plenty of lines out there but just not quite as big. You will need the steamer and beanie and it is still worth a paddle.

East Coast Wakes Up

Wanga enjoying the sun & swell pics Grant.

Wednesday 14th July 2010

Swell is finally with us with some nice lines of swell around the 3-4ft range from the East / North East. Wind is from the WNW and is quite light. Don't hesitate.

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

Tuesday 13th July 2010

Really good conditions this morning, with the swell having a few more lines in it and giving us hope for a swell increase. Currently it is only 1-2ft from the E with really calm conditions, if anything the wind is out of the NW but too calm to tell. So while conditions are again ideal the waves just aren't there.....yet.

Monday, July 12, 2010

Monday 12th July 2010

Again conditions are ideal this morning with a nice light W wind, however the waves are again not cooperating with it dropping a little more to be about 1-2ft out of the ENE. Again if you are keen you may find a little wave....somewhere.

Sunday, July 11, 2010

Sunday 11th July 2010

Not too much happening in the waves department this morning. Quite a small and dribbley 2ft ENE swell accompanied by a very light WNW wind. Conditions are pretty good but waves and swell are NOT cooperating. Still its worth a paddle if your pretty keen.

Saturday, July 10, 2010

Saturday 10th July 2010

Well its NOT raining. Probably best conditions for the last few days with a small 2-3ft swell from the ESE. Really light W winds this morning. Quite a small period swell so waves are looking a little bunched but still it is quite clean and definitely worth a paddle for the weekend warriors.

Friday, July 9, 2010

Friday 9th July 2010

Ground hog day at Shelly Beach today. More rain, swell still 3ft from the SE but slightly bigger in the Northern corners. Wind is still pretty light from the SW. Again there is still waves to be found but just may have to search.

Thursday, July 8, 2010

Thursday 8th July 2010

Pretty similar conditions to yesterday with the swell backing off a little bit to be around 3ft from the SE. Wind is quite light this morning from the SW keeping it relatively clean. Quite a small period swell which has made it look a little bumpy and lumpy. Pretty wet and overcast this morning also.
